ICYR 2022
Welcome to the XXX edition of the International Congress of Young Researchers, a non-competitive International Scientific Hybrid Event, which will take place from November 5th to 9th 2022 in La Torre Outlet, Zaragoza (Spain) to the world.
Every year we gather groups of young people from different parts of the world who travel to our city, Zaragoza (Spain), to present their research projects that have previously been awarded in national competitions or international fairs. In addition to the lecture sessions, multiple leisure, scientific and cultural activities are carried out.
And this year, would you like to join?
The 30th edition will be a meeting point where young people from the 5 continents can come together to share their projects on STEAM topics. Given the current circumstances, it is estimated that up to 50 people will attend in person from those entities with which we have agreements at European level. In addition, participants from other countries outside the European Union will be allowed to participate in parallel in a virtual format, thus ensuring compliance with health measures.
The projects will be presented through a streaming connection broadcast on different platforms, simultaneously with the presentations in the space provided in person. There will also be cultural activities, which will allow our participants to get to know our region up close; recreational activities, in order to establish links between young people; and scientific activities, bringing science closer in a fun and entertaining way.

Who can participate?

International participants: Organisations affiliated to MILSET can register directly (check the list here). Direct registrations of individuals are not authorised.

National participants: organisations with affiliation agreements with ICIJA or groups that have been previously selected

Groups with participants between 12 and 25 years old.

Each delegation may present a maximum of 2 projects (there is not participants limit per project)

One leader must apply representing each delegation
Is ICYR a competition?
The International Congress of Young Researchers is a non-competitive event, so there is no ranking among the projects. All participating projects have been previously selected and awarded at national or international fairs.
Format of the event: ICYR 2022 will be a hybrid event. Participants involved in the Erasmus+ Mobisciences 2022 project will be participating in person at the event and the rest will be able to participate virtually from their countries.
More face to face participants will be admitted until full capacity is reached. Ask the organising committee.

The participants must carry a project they have realised on a scientific or technical topic. This projects will be showcase to the public during the event.
The participants must be between 12 and 25 years old. Each delegation may present a maximum of 2 projects (there is not participants limit per project).
One leader must apply representing each delegation.

Language
English is the official language of the event.
You shall be able to present your project in English and the material used to support your presentation has to be, at least, in English.
How to get there?
By Air
Pick up is organized at Zaragoza Airport. More information on: https://www.aena.es/es/zaragoza.html
Note: you may land in Madrid or Barcelona and continue by train.
- Landing in Madrid: you will have to go from Madrid Barajas Airport to Puerta Atocha Train station.
- Landing in Barcelona: you will have to go from El Prat Airport to Barcelona Sants Train station. From the airport there is a suburban train service to the train station which takes 30 mins.
By train
Pick up is organised at Delicias Train Station.
From Madrid, the train service departs from Madrid-Puerta De Atocha and arrives in Zaragoza-Delicias. Services depart hourly, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 1h 30m.

From Barcelona, the train service departs from Barcelona Sants and arrives in Zaragoza-Delicias Duration: 1h40
By bus
Same station for bus and train. Pick up is organised at Delicias Bus Station.

Dates
The event will take place between 5th and 9th November 2022.
When is the registration deadline?
There is a pre-registration which deadline has been extended to 30th of July. Then you will find the final registration which deadline is until 15th September 2022. Would you conduct your selection pass that date, please contact us prior the deadline.

The fee is covering the period from the morning 5th November to the afternoon 9st November 2022 and includes the meals, accommodation*, local transport and official activities.
*It is mandatory that at least one supervisor apply to the event to accompany each group of participants.
**The organisers keep the possibility to board you with a participant from another delegation taking care on your gender and age.
**The transfer costs are at your charge.
Method of payment
Payment will be made by bank transfer indicating «Delegation name_ICYR». Subsequently, proof of payment will be sent to the event’s e-mail address (congress@icija.es) indicating the number of participants and leaders, as well as the delegation.

Covid-19
The organisers and participants shall comply to the local regulation.
The participants shall carry a valid Covid Safe Ticket/Green Pass.
Extra details shall be provided in due time.
Visas
If you need a VISA to come:
- The participant have to complete the registration information online;
- The participant requests his invitation to the organiser once the registration is completed;
- The organiser issues the invitation and the accommodation reservation and make them available to do the final registration;
- The participant fulfils all requirements needed and handle his/her request with the embassy or consulate in charge for Spain visas.
The participant is fully responsible to handle its visa in due time and to provide all required documents to obtain it.
The visa request should be entered at least 2 months in advance.

Payment
Until October 10th, 2022
The registration fee is indicated in the FAQ’s section. Payment will be made by bank transfer with the concept «Delegation_ICYR», to the following account number: IBAN ES12 0073 0100 570506082076 (Swift/BIC: OPENESMM).
